Community Participation Support
This service provides opportunities for community inclusion, building interest in and developing skills and potential for competitive integrated employment. Services are based on the individual’s interests, preferences, and strengths. The goal is for participants to receive support that provides full access to the greater community, including opportunities to seek employment, engage in community life, and have control of their personal resources, to the same degree as a person not receiving waiver services.
Examples of Community Participation Support include:
- Volunteering at a local animal shelter or food bank
Visiting the local library
Joining the YMCA
Seeing a movie or concert
Attending a sporting event
Going to museums
Bowling
